- Yes you pay income taxes. There are exceptions for certain organizations but if you personally earned US dollars in the US you pay federal income tax. Now for tax year 2005 there are standard deductions and potential personal exemptions which may apply to yourself which means less tax owed if you qualify. State tax and soc. sec. tax and medicare tax are also possible taxes you would owe for the privilege to earn money in the good old US of A.
