What are the personal taxes (esp individual income tax) that foreigners need to pay if working in China?

How many percentage of the personal salaries will expats need to pay as income tax in China if they are sent to work there? Are the income tax being paid to China our to their original homeland?

For example, a UK citizen would generally not pay UK taxes on the income but a US citizen or resident would, depending upon the amout of the income and how long they resided in China.
