when filing your taxes, can you get more money than the one withheld as federal income tax?
Let's say if on your W-2, you have $2000 in the field for Federal Tax Withheld, can you get a refund of more than of $2000 depending on the deductions (like interest mortgage)? (Taxes in USA)

- Yes but not because of deductions like mortgage interest. You have to qualify for a refundable credit like EIC for your refund to be more than was withheld.
