- Yes, they have to pay tax on their income - combat pay is non-taxable to members of the military only. But the automatic extension is available to civilians under the direction of the Armed Forces in support of the Armed Forces.
- Yes. The combat zone exclusion only applies to active duty military personal and certain Federal Civil Service employees. Civilian contractor employees are fully taxed though they may be eligible for the Foreign Earned Income Exclusion. Most are exempted from host-nation taxation under the Status of Forces Agreements.
- I think anything over 92,000 you have to pay taxes and also if you visited the states for then 30 days you pay taxes on all of it.
- You pay no taxes for the first 75,ooo you earn out of the country. Check with your tax attorney.
