Has anyone had any experience filing their federal and state income taxes using "TaxSlayer.com"?

What kind of experience did you have with it? Was it complicated?

  1. No, I like tax brain
  2. I used TaxSlayer last year. It was no more complicated than any of the other tax prep websites (before that I had used h and r block, before that I bought turbotax). They gave me a link to check on the status of the refund. I got the refund really quickly. TaxSlayer and lots of others are free if you're under a certain income level. It varies by website. I think the IRS has a list of free tax prep services.
  3. I have used TaxSlayer.com for the past two years, and they have been really easy to use and quick about getting you your refunds. I would suggest taxslayer to anyone willing to do their own taxes. Some people I know just won't do their own taxes because they don't want to mess them up. If you are only filing state and federal and have no deductions, credits, or anything else. Do them yourself. My tax situation is a little more complicated this year due to me buying and home, but I will probably still use taxslayer.
  4. i've filed taxes with taxslayer for the last two or three years and i have been completely satisfied. i even advise friends and family members to do so. it is really easy and quick. not to mention cheaper than turbo tax. but i sometimes check it with turbo tax to see if i'm getting the same results and i always do. the state taxes are free once you file the federal and the entire filing is free if you're military. so i strongly recommend using it.
  5. It is not complicated IF you know the tax laws....otherwise hire a tax preparer.
  6. Why would anyone use anything other than the two "standard" tax programs: TurboTax or H&R Tax Cut? They are the industry standard. Why mess with anything else?? You might find lower cost alternatives but is the tiny bit of $ that you save worth the hassle of a sub-par tax package?
