New York State Income Taxes?
Why does it take so darn long for New York Income Tax Refunds...we file our taxes on February 2, 2007 and still haven't heard or received anything from these people..

- The people in government work at a snails pace, because it all pays the same..
- Did you e-file your return? If so, was it accepted and when? Sometimes the computer systems are slow or have problems (look at the poor Canadians, their system crashed!). You can go here https://www7.nystax.gov/PRIS/prisHome to check the status of your return. For 2007 consider adjusting your withholdings to closely equal your tax so you won't be waiting on the refund. After all, why would you want to give them more money than necessary?
- NYS is a huge deficit state. They will delay issuing refunds as long as possible in order to earn the maximum amount of interest on your money.
