do I have to file income taxes for the state of Texas?

I earned income in the state of Texas last year. I was told there's no state income tax, but just wanted to confirm this.

1. That is correct. Texas has no state income tax, however you'll still have to pay federal taxes on those earnings. I'm an accountant.
