Have you made a job decision to change jobs and move to another state in order to avoid St income taxes?
My State has very high state income taxes, and I hear people say that they want to change jobs and move to where income taxes are low or zero. Have you done this? Just wondering and are you glad you did?

- problem is....states that have no STATE income tax.... whack you even harder with SALES TAXES. Florida and Tennessee are 2 that come to mind... no tax but ST rates close to 10%..
- The states that do not have income taxes tend to have high sales and/or property taxes so, where ever you live, you are going to pay one way or another. Also, states with lower tax burdens tend to offer a lower quality of life if that matters to you.
- Do your research before you make a move. Where taxes are lower, the average income may be lower too, and living expenses might be different. Where I live in Ireland, there would be no advantage in moving just for tax reasons because income tax is the same all over. But if I moved to Dublin, say, because wages may be higher (as they are in my field), any plusses would be minimised by housing, food, transport and entertainment costs being much higher too, as well as the business overheads. In fact, I am better off staying where I am, and my quality of life is substantially better.
- that was an consideration when i decided to move out of wisconsin (state tax plus sales tax and high property taxes). Decide on texas based on taxes but also climate and job opportunities.
