What percent comes out of your check if you claim zero on your Federal income taxes?
I live in Arizona and I just want to know how much of my check is should I not expect to have when making calculations on my paycheck. I know they take the most out at zero on your federal taxes, but you also get more back at the end of the year. Plus I dont want to owe money to the gov. come the end of the year, thus I claim zero. So, does anyone know what the percent is that the gov. takes out when you claim zero on your federal income taxes??

- Hard to figure out the % without more details about your pay. At any rate, the tax system is a progressive one so the more you make, generally speaking, the more taxes are deducted. Zero exemption, as you noted, would generate the most amount of taxes withheld on each level.
- It's not a flat percentage. It's based on your salary. Here's a site where you can plug in all your numbers and see what happens: http://www.paycheckcity.com
