I filed for Injured Spouse and sent the forms to the (Federal)IRS.Do I need to send another form to the State?

Does anyone filed for Injured Spouse? Do I have to send a form to the State (State of California Franchise Tax Board)? I already sent it to the IRS.

1. Check the FTB website to see if they have a similar form. They're separate from Federal so it's up to CA whether or not that's an option for you. Keep in mind that CA's community property and debt collection laws are such that it may not benefit you at all whether you file Injured Spouse or not.
2. Community property laws will come back to bite you because all community property is subject to the debts of either spouse. Unless you have separate property to protect, the state is probably a lost cause.
3. More than likely you have to file one with CA contact them to find out if you should.
4. Only if the State of California has injured spouse rules California does not have an injured spouse law
