do you need a copy of w2 with form 1040?

i mailed in my form 1040 as the irs rep told me to, she said just mail that in. But i see other people mailing in a copy of their w2, do i need a copy to? what will happen since i didnt?

1. If you mailed a tax return without attaching your W-2s the IRS will either return it to you.or send you a letter advising you that you didn't enclose your W-2 and instruct you where to mail them. This will obviously delay the processing of your return and the payment of any refund for several weeks.
