How do you get your home taxes reduced ASAP in CA.

3. Tax assessed value is (usually) as of January 1st of each year. Check with your tax assessor's office as to the procedure to challenge your assessed value and the time period to do this. It usually late summer or early fall after the new assesments are completed. Remember they will use the same comparable sales as you will find. realtor.sailor
4. I can save you some trouble...you won't get it. Because the expenses of RUNNING California has increased not decreased, therefore, you will be taxed accordingly.
5. You can talk to the assessor, but I highly doubt you are going to get a reduction. Especially in CA and especially ASAP. Since when did government run quickly? LOL
6. I was able to get my condo reassessed & lowered once in CA--after the earthquake. The rest of the time, unsuccessful--but you can try.
