Why do liberals want to steal more money from the rich which they owned by themselves?

http://www.iht.com/articles/2007/07/16/business/tax.php This is just another example of how the liberals are trying to shove a failed socialist agenda down the throats of the American people. Recent calculations by the Congressional Budget Office of U.S. tax rates show a highly progressive system. (The numbers are based on 2004 data, but the tax code has not changed much since then.) The poorest fifth of the population, with average annual income of $15,400, pays only 4.5 percent of its income in federal taxes. The middle fifth, with income of $56,200, pays 13.9 percent. And the top fifth, with income of $207,200, pays 25.1 percent. I'm sick of hearing the stupid arguments that the rich don't pay taxes. The rich very well do pay taxes as shown in the source above. In fact, more taxes than the average American. In conclusion, don't fall for the lies of the la- la land liberals. They'are just trying to suppress success in this great nation. And they're trying to suppress success so America become an averge or mediocre nation. I won't let that happen too America. GOD BLESS AMERICA! Lordy! One might wonder how Buffett gets away with a tax rate of only 17.7 percent, while a typical millionaire is paying so much more. Most likely, part of the answer is that Buffett's income is made up largely of dividends and capital gains, which are taxed at only 15 percent. By contrast, many other top earners pay the maximum ordinary income tax rate of 35 percent on their salaries, bonuses and business income.

  1. Yes. It's not only the Rich that the Liberals want to take from. Liberals want what their neighbors have. They want the Government to take away from their neighbors and give it to them. Some people are "Givers". Democrats are "Takers".
  2. I don't. That is a very broad generalization.
  3. The more FACTS you say the more bashing and whining you'll here from Liberals...
  4. no one's trying to steal money from them, or make them pay extra, we just don't think they should be given tax breaks.
  5. EQUAL TAX RATES FOR ALL!!!!
  6. More fodder for your argument on taxation: http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20070930/ap_on_go_co/cigarette_tax;_ylt=AlaxAXt7Oi7tz3rnm_ST6Z2yFz4D Pay special attention to who gets hit hardest. Edit: It's amazing how terrible they feel when they could just as easily give it up- oops, sorry, that's not an option.
  7. ask Warren Buffet. He said that last year he paid only 17% in income tax, while his secretary paid 30%. he also said there is a class warfare and the rich are winning.
  8. I think liberals believe the rich probably broke the law, or somehow swindled the poor to become rich, and their pinko delusions of a utopian socialist-state tell them that they should give the shirt off of somebody else's back to give free money to the poor. What they don't realize, however, is that without the rich, there would be no government.
  9. If success is defined by this: WASHINGTON, Sept 27 (Reuters) - With the U.S. government fast approaching its current $8.965 trillion credit limit, the Senate on Thursday gave final congressional approval of an $850 billion increase in U.S. borrowing authority. The Senate voted 53-42 to raise the debt ceiling to $9.815 trillion, the fifth increase in the U.S. credit limit since President George W. Bush took office in January 2001. The U.S. House of Representatives approved the higher debt limit earlier this year as part of the overall budget resolution and the legislation now goes to Bush for his signature. "We have no choice but to approve it. If we fail to raise the debt ceiling soon, the U.S. Treasury will default for the first time in its history," said Senate Finance Committee Chairman Max Baucus. The national deficit was 5.6 trillion in 2001. Lowering the tax rates for the top individuals was supposed to lower the debt. What would you propose? I have no problem with the rich, no problem with lowering taxes. But you also have to find a new revenue source. We could become a third world country(no fireman, police, no new or improved highways or bridges) but where would the rich get people to buy their product?
  10. It's not a matter of suppression. Yes, suppression is the result but not the intent. They are of the opinion that the success will continue just because people will do it out of the goodness of their heart even though there is nothing in it for them. They subscribe to hydraulic economics. In other words, for the rest of the world to come up, it is necessary for the US to come down and provide what the rest of the world will come up with. Once we equalize, the theory is that there will be nothing to envy each other for and we will all be just one slap-happy family. Nothing could be farther from the truth. Those that lag behind in the process will arm themselves just as they have done all through history. They will go to war with anyone who will not settle for mediocrity.
  11. You and wolf are really moronic with your accusations. But you don't mind paying Halliburton, KB&R, and all the others profiting off this illegal war. Clean your own house before you critize others.
  12. Actually the theft is from the middle class schmucks like me. The rich don't get stolen from like we do. They burden us to feed the poor. I don't disagree with helping those TRULY in need. But I must ask: When were we charged with feeding, clothing and supplying booze/drug money to the stupid and lazy???? This also applies to the illegal population.
  13. Huhmmm... is that why Leona Helmsley said to her housekeeper "We (the rich) don't pay taxes. Only the little people pay taxes." At least she was more honest than you.
  14. Bill Clinton Did Not try "to shove a failed socialist agenda down the throats of the American people" so.. what the heck are you talking about ? I am looking forward to voting for another Clinton in '08. Clinton in 08 - God Bless America and thank you for sending us Hillary.
  15. my support for higher taxes on rich people is because they don't EARN the money......you can't be valuable enough or work hard enough to make a 500,000 or $million in a year.or more ....money made from investment isn't work, it's manipulation.....that money really belongs to the people who did the WORK that created the wealth....I'm so tired of how many "make a living" as money handler leaches on the people who actually work.
  16. The top fifth may pay 25.1% of their income, but they have much more than income to rely on, unlike those in the lower categories. If the top fifth lost their jobs most would be able to survive. If the middle or bottom fifth lost thiers, they'd be out on the streets and unable to eat. In addition, since the incomes of the top fifth can be so much higher than those below them, they are still better able to get by on what they make after taxes. After all, by your figures, the middle third brings in $48K after taxes, compared with $155K for the top fifth. Considering that the top fifth is incomes of $207K and up, those who are in the "and up" part no doubt bring in a heck of a lot more. And considering that these people have to spend a much smaller percentage of their income on little things like housing, food and gas, their hit is even less.
  17. An income of two hundred thousand dollars yearly would be like upper middle but not what I think of as rich. When I think of the rich I'm thinking of someone who's making millions, they are the ones who pay no taxes because they have so many loopholes and tax breaks available to them and the high price lawyers to find them all...
  18. I VERY WISE MAN ONCE SAID THAT [[YOU WILL NEVER MAKE A POOR MAN RICH BY MAKING A RICH MAN POOR]] THIS IS SOMETHING THAT THE LIB'S WILL NEVER UNDERSTAND..
  19. The biggest thief in the USA "the government." I Cr 13;8a
