  1. go to hrblock.com and use the tax calculator on their website by putting in the same info you put on here.also need ages of dependents it'll be about 5000.00-5300.00 though. happy spending!
  2. You'll receive a Federal refund of at least $5,001. Gross Income: $34,657 Standard Deduction: $10,900 Exemptions: $17,500 Taxable Income: $6,257 Tax: $626 Child Tax Credit: $626 Net Tax: $0 Tax withheld: $1,160 EIC: $1,467 Additional Child Tax Credit: $2,374 Total Refund: $5,001 If you received less than $1,526 in Stimulus Rebates in 2008, add the difference between $1,526 and what you did receive to the above total. For example if one of your children was born in 2008 and you received $1,200, add $326 to the $5,001 for a grand total of $5,327. Not sure about any State refunds as there's not enough information to calculate it (how much was earned in each state, etc.) but you probably will be looking at some money there as well.
  3. Get a 1040 form and start filling it out. That is the best way to figure out what you will get back. There are many variables. Businesses are required to send w-2s out by 1/31/09 If you want help email me pagodaboy2001@yahoo.com
  4. Working on following assumptions; you got a stimulus check/payment of 1500 in 2008 and all children are under age 17. Your federal refund will be $ 3,367.00. No mention made of education credits, child care expense, yada. State taxes cannot be figured due to non-release of state programs yet.
  5. 34,657 minus standard deduction of $10,900 = $23,757 $23,757 minus 5 exemptions at $3,500 each leaves $6257 in taxable income. At 10%, tax = $626. Credits: child tax credit = $1,000 for each child under age 17 EIC is about $1650 if all your income is earned Withholding: $1160 In general credits plus withholding minus tax = refund.
