income taxes help

Does the IRS treat the Schedule SE form and the 1040 form separately? That is what they did on me.?

It seemed as though when I filled out both forms and turned them in, I was taxed on much more then I should have been. I transferred the amount on my 1040 form and was exempt from Federal Taxes, but they still wanted that full amount.

  1. Well if they did that to you it must be so!
  2. Form SE gets attached to form 1040 and both sent to the IRS together. Most people who are newly self-employed are surprised to see how much that is. When you're an employee your employer pays part of that tax for you but you pay the whole thing when self-employed. Sorry about that. http://www.irs.gov/ TAxRef http://www.pdftax.com/
