in regards to the stimulus tax rebate. what form do I use to file. we do not file income taxes?
we dont file income taxes as we do not make enough money. we are in our late 60's and do not work but live on social security, and a gov. disability.

- you file a 1040, just like everybody else, and report your social security and disability income.
- You file a specially prepared Form 1040-A if you don't have taxable income to report but are eligible for the stimulus plan rebates. Here's a sample, directly from the IRS website: http://www.irs.gov/pub/newsroom/1040a.pdf
- 1040 or 1040A will do it.
- You would file a Form 1040A. If this is THE ONLY INCOME that you receive, then neither one of these are taxable income. It's very easy to do. Fill out your names, social security numbers, address and filing status (Married filing jointly) Put you government disability (such as veterans disability on line 12A and your combined social securtiy benefits on line 14A. Since neither of these are taxable income because they are your only income, just put 0 as taxable income. Sign and date the return. Across the top of the 1040A Form in big letters, write "STIMULUS REBATE", then find the address on the irs website as to where to mail it in. It's easy to look up. you are eligible for a $600 rebate. Hopefully, the plan is, that the IRS will be sending out information on this once a week in batches to senior citizens, disabled and veterans that will explain this process sometime in March. But you can file it before they actually send you the brochere or letter on it.. The following website is where you can actually fill out an print the form online after you're done so that you can mail it in. Just make sure to write in big letters across the top about the rebate.
