income taxes help

Low taxes, best real estate prices, and maximum benefits for retirees would decide the place to settle. Advise

Being a new resident in the US, a retiree who has decided to live here, I shall appreciate it a lot if I could be advised on he subject enabling me to decide the matter. The most important issues are medical coverage and assistance, prices of real estate, taxes, benefits for the retired persons that are being offered, and general social conditions prevailing at a location. Then, it shall be best suited to my requirements if the location is in the east US, extending to Midwest/ Chicago as all my kids are residing in that locale. I have to decide this matter quickly as I am keen to start sinking my roots here and be a productive member of the society, at the latest, by 2010 end. I am an Asian - from Pakistan, and have been a federal government employee for over 35 years, starting as an officer ending up in senior executive position. My wife and myself hold master in English literature degrees from the Punjab University, granted in 1964.

  1. I'd say call a realtor.
  2. Welcome to the Colonies,my friend, and welcome to your family. Chicago is actually very nice.
  3. Living near my children has guided my decision. But of course they're scattered, so can't really be near all of them at once. Family is important as we grow older.
  4. being i am from illinois i will pull for my state -- i would say anything around interstate 70 == in fact effingham is a real nice town -- good facilities and reasonable -- do not have the cold winters of chicago 200 miles south -- and it is on the train line so you can grab a train anytime you want to go to chicago!!!
