If a person owes state income taxes from2000,will they get a stimulas check? if a person owes state taxes from 2000and their is a lein, will they still get a stimulas check?

  1. It's irrelevant. The stimulus rebate check refers ONLY to your 2007 FEDERAL 1040 Income tax return - state returns have nothing to do with it
  2. I read somewhere that if any tax was owed, either state or federal, the fed was working with states to make sure the tax was deducted from the stimulus payment before checks are mailed. If there is a balance remaining after the state tax is paid, you'll get what's left.
  3. If you owe back taxes, child support, student loans or anything like that the stimulus payment will be sent to satisfy the debt.
  4. It depends upon which state you were living in as of January 1, 2001. If you add what state you were a resident of, I can click "Edit" and answer your question. Thanks
