Do I have to pay federal income taxes if I am a single person who made less than $3000 last year?
When is the breakoff for having to pay income taxes or not, in terms of wages?

- You will not have to pay income tax, but if the $3,000 was from self-employment (for instance if you got a 1099MISC rather than a W-2) you will have SE tax to pay at 15.3% of your "1099" income.
- No
- You don't have to pay, but if any tax was withheld you still have to file. After all, you want all that money back.
- file if want any withholding returned as refund. also, if you over age 26 or so, might be eligible for earned income credit even without kids
