do you have to pay federal income taxes if you receive your spouses social security?
I am 65, still working with an income of $19,000 plus the SS check. Does the social security check count toward income for tax purposes? This is the first year I started to get this check. I am in Massachusetts if anyone knows about state taxes. Thanks for your help.

- Yes I do believe so that it would count toward income because you are getting money from the ss here is some info that may help you further.
- Yes, and yours is taxable, too. You are eligible to apply now, yourself.
