income taxes help

Is it safe to file income taxes using devices such as Turbo Tax and others of that genre?

I specifically would like to know about security. I would like to hear from anyone who has filed their income taxes using this method. What was their experience like? Pros and cons please.

  1. Yes it is very safe. My husband and I have used Turbo Tax and TaxCut. Both save your information from year to year so you don't have to retype your name, etc. They have direct links to submitting your taxes to both your state and the feds. They are updated yearly to reflect current tax law and requirements. Very easy and fast!
  2. I use TaxCut every year to file taxes. I believe their security is excellent. I have not had any problems that would make me feel otherwise. I think TaxCut is a little more user friendly that Turbo Tax in that it is easier to move around, back and forward. TaxCut has a level where you can have a tax professional check and sign your return before you file, I like that feature.
  3. I used Turbo Tax 2007 Basic (Walmart) -- first time using this and first time e-filing. Yes, I believe it is safe -- I ordered the state form, federal and state e-file from the Turbo Tax online site.
  4. yes it is safe... been using turbo tax for at least 10 years. direct deposit and all.. wanderful... it's fast and no worries about mail getting lost.
  5. Yes they ar both safe to use. I have been using them for years . I have used the boxed /purchased Cd and also the online. You can also do your Federal online for free and E-file for free @ http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html http://turbotax.intuit.com/ http://www.taxact.com/products/standard_overview.asp
