Some have said to qualify for the tax rebate you need to have $3000 of taxable income?
I don't think so. To have $3000 dollars of taxable income, you'd need to make about $11,875 dollars? The $3000 to get a rebate of $300 has to be "gross" income, right?

- Taxable income just means you had to make $3,000 that year gross.
- I think you're right. It said people who didn't pay taxes, but made $3000...if you didn't pay taxes you had 0 taxable income.
- no.....u misunderstood it.....to be qualified for the rebate u need TO EARN ATLEAST $3000. not the total taxes they take out FROM your earning (such as federal withheld). so it means u make atleast $3000 and pay tax u could get up $600.....if u didn't pay tax u could only get $300.
- $3,000 period. "Know it all" is so smart. Please add me as a contact. I like your answer.
- yes, their correct and you know what is bad i made 2999.00 last year,so i missed it by 1 dollar,i am so sad
- No! The rebate will go out to people who earn AT LEAST $3000! This means that the poorest people will also get the rebate, which is great! This is what I found that was posted just about two hours ago: Under the plan, individuals would receive rebates of up to $600 and couples could receive $1,200, plus $300 per child, Paulson said. Rebates would be phased out for individuals earning more than $75,000 and couples earning more than $150,000. Individuals must earn at least $3,000 to get a $300 rebate. The rebates will be mailed out possibly in May. This must first be signed into law, which will happen because both sides have come to an agreement. I will put the link below for you.
- Here are the scheduled rebates: Individuals who pay income taxes would get up to $600, working couples $1,200 and those with children an additional $300 per child under the agreement. Workers who make at least $3,000 but don’t pay taxes would get $300 When you make at least $3,000, that is gross income.
