Do you pay too much in state level taxes?
Just wondering; In Texas we don't pay state income tax, instead they nail us with fees, bonds, property taxes, and sales tax (8.75%)etc. Edit: Make that state and local level taxes, please.

- Yes. I live in N.C. and they tax us on everything! And we're a RED state. http://www.retirementliving.com/RLstate3.html#NORTH%20CAROLINA
- No, its not as much as I pay in federal, and its really not so much that I would complain about it.
- it's not too bad here in Arkansas.. and they are good about cutting back on taxes when they are doing well financially on the state level.... plus the Beer tax was repealed like they said it would be... mmmmmm .... beer.... :p And they cut down on our grocery tax in the last session.
- I don't have a problem with Federal Taxes, however, the State and Local bozos are incompetent, corrupt and, due to economies of scale, produce non-competitive services.
- I pay what is required by my state. I live in a heavily taxed state, I could move, but I choose to stay here. I like the state I live in and the way it is maintained. If I must pay taxes that are high in order for my state to stay the way it is so be it.
- I'm in Texas, so I'm like you.
- YUP, FEDERAL TOO!
- Cook County taxes are ridiculous. Chicago is in Cook County. Property taxes are horrendous.
- Yes,the fact my return states I overpaid proves it. I did however donate part of the refund to the military relief fund and the parks, conservation and wildlife funds too. I personally believe income tax shouldn't exist, they can get tax money when we spend our,I know they already do,but that seems like paying double taxes. added. Chi,maybe you can get Jake and Elwood to help. LOL
