Ok. I owed money for state income taxes this year. I sent the check to them on April 15?
They still have not cashed my check yet. How long does it usually take for the state to cash your check.....I've been waiting and hoping i still have the money in my bank when they do decide to cash the check.

- It is not automatic. I would give it a couple of months.
- Its up to you to make sure the money for any check you write is available in your account.
- If in doubt, you should call your state agency and find out the status of the check. These these tend to take awhile, and you need to subtract the amount of the check from your bank account, and forget it ever existed. Even if it's physically still there, keep the mind set that it is already gone and you won't run into any problems.
