what online tax preparation services do you use?

I have used Turbo Tax for the last 5 years. But I was very unsatisfied with their service this year. I want to find a different company to use for next year. Any suggestions? We make around 90K a year, so we wont qualify for free services. Thanks Turbo Tax experience this year was subpar. Their handling of the AMT changes was horrible, and caused serious delays with our returns this year. If they had explained upfront that choosing certain deductions would cause such delay I would not be so unhappy. This was the only time I have had to call their customer service and it was completely unhelpful. Not to mention this mess with the tax rebate check. I had already decided before the tax rebate mess to find another company.

  1. I have used H&R Block for years. Have not had one problem. I just found out about the free file a couple of years ago, like that option even better :)

  3. I know some people who used the irs.gov one and said it was good and easy. You could try it...it's free. http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html

  5. I used Hand R block and it was nice and simple. I did Direct deposit and I am not having any of the issues as others with my stimulus. It was free for me as I only Wish I made 90k.lol
  6. I've never needed customer service from Turbotax, because their program as always worked as expected... Are you making this change because you had your fees deducted from your refund and didn't like the consequences (besides pouring an extra $30 down the drain) on your rebate? < additional info > Okay, I'm not aware of a "mess" with the rebate. Some people have had misconceptions, and to those people it is a mess. As far as the AMT situation, that delayed processing of all returns with preference items, no matter who prepared the return, or which tax software they used. Telling you about the delay earlier in the the preparation process could have been a much more difficult change for them to make...implementing and testing software changes is not a magic wand they can wave. Sounds to me like your beef is with the IRS. You will still be required to use them next year, but I imagine there won't be the same issues that were mostly unique to this year. :)
