Soften the Blow of ISO Stock Purchase By Buying Real Estate?

I would like to sell some stock options. Given my time frame and the fact that I haven't purchased the options yet, the profit will be taxed as short-term capital gain. I am also currently interested in purchasing real estate. Is there any way I can make these two work together to reduce the impact of the taxation on my stock sale? Or is there anything I can do with my current home loan to help offset it?
