What is the yearly income level that I do not have to file federal income taxes? I am Married with 2 children.

1. without looking it up in the 2008 tax book I don't want to give you wrong numbers but if you are at a level that you would be thinking of that, you should look at EIC and quite possibly have a return coming to you...wouldn't hurt to look
2. $17,500 for 2007 if the income was all from a job where they took out social security and medicare, $400 if it was from self-employment. But if you made less that that, with two kids you should file anyway if you had ANY earned income since you'd almost surely be eligible for an Earned Income Credit which is free money, and if you don't file, you won't get it.
