Free Online Tax Software?
I'm a Canadian living in BC and preparing the personal income tax form. I heard there is an online government tax software which is free, and can calculate the tax deductions and credits from previous years automatically. Does anyone have any idea about the software or can give me the website link?

- I DON'T THINK I WOULD PUT ANY EFILE ON PERSONAL INFO ON LINE WITH TAX INFO AND SS # TO MANY HACKERS OUT THERE BE CAREFUL WITH DOING ANY THING ON LINE WITH THIS INFO I KNOW THERE IS LOTS OF PEOPLE OUT THERE DOING THIS BUT THE FACT THAT YOUR ASKING ON LINE YOU MAY GET MISINFORMED AND I WOULD ASK LOCALS AS TO WHERE AND WHAT SITE BEFORE I WOULD TRUST A ON LINE ANSWER TO THIS QUESTION GOOD LUCK JFB
- www.ufile.ca is free for anyone who made less than $20,000 and it's very simple to use.
- I've been using Genutax for over five years now and love it. It's easy to use. You enter your information on screens that look exactly like your slips. The support is also very good too. It's a one time fee of $34.99 (+tax) and they email you updates every year at no extra charge. I've moved, changed emails, fried my computer, etc, and they responded with new downloads within hours after I sent them an email. You can print and Netfile up to 20 returns each year so it's worth it! If you don't want to make the committment, you can opt to download the free trial version to try it out. You will still get the same results and everything; you just cant print or Netfile it. It also gives you the option of doing previous years' taxes, but I'm not sure if you can Netfile those. You may have to print them out and send them in. http://www.genutax.ca/
