- email the irs people and ask them.
- go to www.irs.gov
- I'm not sure you can - the IRS would be the only place that MIGHT have a copy, if you did it yourself. Did you manually do it? if you used a tax advisor, try them, if you did it on turbo tax or taxcut, typically your return is saved on your computer...
- go to www.irs.gov click on publications (upper left) Print form 1040
- If you had someone do your taxes, like H & R Block, they have copies of yur taxes or do like the oher one said and contact the IRS.
- If you go to the IRS office they will print it off for you but at this time of year be prepared for a LONG wait. If you had it done by turbo tax on your computer you should be able to pull it off. If HR Block or some other preparer did it for you they will have a copy. Its a little late to be doing your FASFA but you can always guess at the 2006 info and come close. You can correct your FASFA later if needed.
- You can contact the IRS by phone or in person to request another copy of your 1040 OR request a tax transcript (NOT an account transcript) which will have all your tax information, too. The toll free number is 1-800-829-1040. To find a local IRS office, visit their web site at www.irs.gov. Visiting their office in person may require a long wait, but you can receive the tax return or tax transcript in the same day, whereas by phone you will have to wait for them to mail it to you. And remember in the future, ALWAYS keep copies of your tax returns for at least 5 years!
