How long will it take me to receive an IRS refund after filing an amended return - form 1040X?

I have three years worth of amended returns to file with sizable added refunds due for the past three years. I am mailing them on Monday - how long before I should receive my check from the IRS? The years I am filing are 2004, 2005, and 2006. I filed Single with a Dependent instead of Head of Household.

Once IRS receives your 1040X it will take 6-12 weeks to process your forms. Be patient IRS will no have to re-input your tax return, make adjustments etc.
It will probably take at least two or maybe three months.
I filed an amended return last year and they said it would take 8-12 weeks and it took every bit of the 12 weeks to get the refund. They were not doing anything or letting that refund go before that 12 weeks was up. I know that's not good news but just sit back and wait. It'll be nice when it does come!
