What is a status 4?
I had tried to file my taxes for the state of VA, I mailed them in then I got a notice today the said: "We are unable to process your Virginia Income Tax Return. The items checked on this form explain the problem......." they had checked, "If one spouse is not a resident of VA, then the VA resident must file status 4, using only their income." Is a Status 4 a certain form? What form would i fill out just for myself? Also can I do that when I filled a joint 1040 for federal?
