- You can manually get a 1040ez fill it out and send it in. You can usually find the forms at a post office. You don't have to do it on a computer. If your parents are doing turbo tax you might be able to partner with them.
- Yes , you can go to www.irs.gov and they have free web sites that they recommend. You can choose one from there. Make sure though that you mark if your parents are claiming you as a dependent.
- check out online filing resources. http://www.qcktax.com/online-tax-filing.php
- Go to your local library, get the forms, and fill them out. If your parents claim you, you can't, if you have things to claim...like work attire, dry-cleaning, a computer, anything work-related, go to someone or use taxpro or something like that.
- If your adjusted gross income was $54,000 or less in 2007, you can use IRS Free File to prepare and e-file your taxes freee online. http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=118986,00.html
- Don't go to block. Just do Turbotax, FreetaxUSA, TaxBrain or TaxAct on line. eFile on the Federal only and the free Federal eFile. Then go to your State website. You can find it in any search engine. You type in your State along with "department of taxation". E.g, I typed in Idaho Department of Taxation on yahoo and "Idaho State Tax Commission" came up. That's the government body that collects income tax {and I believe all taxes} for the State of Idaho. I say all of that because several States do not charge on their website to do income taxes. So you may be able to iFile {eFile} the State return for free. If the IRS accepts your return, you should get your State back in 5 business days and your Federal in 10-15 business days depending upon how late in the season.
