IRS FREE FORMS--never found any--whats the secret?

All I find are links to pay services--no free ones. Seems like a bunch of crap to me............. you are supposed to be able to aply for free through the website. As of yet, no has given me a good link just said "i did it no problem". Not all of us are so link saavy.

Public Comments

  1. try irs.gov they have all the forms and publications. This is the official IRS website.
  2. I use web site IRS.gov and it works fine. a>
  3. Are you talking about just the Forms or actually filing your taxes. For the Forms you can get the most common ones from your local Post Office. Or you can go to the IRS web site and select the form(s) you need. If you are talking about filing for free, this is more dependent on Income. The second link to the IRS will tell you the qualifications for that.
  4. For regular tax forms, go to IRS.GOV and type the form number into the search box. (For earlier years, type the year in the box.) For 1096, 1099, W-2 and W-3, you have to call and order those separately.
  5. If you want to be able to file your taxes with a free program, TurboTax is free for your federal return and charges like $29 for doing your state return. You can pay them out of your return.
  6. go either to the public library or go the irs.gov if you go to a .com site than you went to the wrong one.
