- H&R Block is the best. I something goes wrong their there to help. I do my taxes every year there, and their great.
- I use https://www.taxactonline.com/
- If you tax return is simple (W2s & mortgage interest for deductions) just buy tax prep software and do it yourself. Don't pay someone money to do simple data entry. However, if you have a complex return (partnership interests, etc.) you may want to go to a CPA.
- Go to www.irs.gov and look for the free filing programs. They will ask you the same questions and unless you have a complicated situation, you'll be fine.
- If you don't want to use the free services as mentioned above, I would check into the independent services in your area. They should be far less expensive than the box shops and any good preparer will stand behind their work - without having to pay an extra fee for it. You should do fine. Hope this helps, Good luck with that.
