Where would you go: Texas, Tennessee, Oregon, Kentucky, or New York? Why?
I have an opp through my employer to request a transfer to one of these states. This is what I know. Oregon: Job would be in Portland. Great scenery, clean air and water, probably the highest quality of life of the five locales, decent people, close to Seattle, no sales tax Texas: San Antonio, currently 1st pick. Hill Country, very clean, no income tax, people are great, some of the nicest looking women I've seen, ATX nearby!! Kentucky: would be near Louisville. The cost of living is cheap, low crime. I've never been treated nicely in KY, only w/ bad and impolite attitudes. I guess if I listened to country music all day, had dirty roadsides and a sh*tty economy I'd be miserable too. Tennessee: would be in Nashville, a great city! Beautiful state, nice highways, great recreational opps, friendly folk. Closest to my home state. New York: would be in Manhattan. Like the people, fast pace, and can-do will-do attitude. It's its own universe! But the cost of living...whoa!

- New York because I live there now and would not want to live anywhere else
- oregon for sure.....but it rains a lot
- portland for me. it is very scenic and close enough to water, skiing, hiking etc to be a real plus over most of the other choices. no sales tax but there is a state income tax.
- Oregon - I have found the people there more down-to-Earth, and I am an outdoors type person. I love the beautiful country and all the trees. I also love the Pacific Coast. Even though I would choose Oregon, I also enjoyed San Antonio. They have the Riverwalk, The Alamo, and the Spurs, but Oregon is more laid back which is to my liking. I haven't spent enough time in Kentucky or Tennessee to give an opinion on them. I would definitely not move to New York. I hate the big city. I move out of L.A. for that reason, but who knows? It might be what you like?
- We moved to Hendersonville, TN 7 years ago- 25 miles north of Nashville. We absolutely LOVE it here. You're right- it's beautiful and there is SO much to do! We have never had a boring weekend and if you are the type, there are plenty of things happening every day and night. The people ARE friendly and warm. It's just a great place. We're from Calif. originally, but TN is home now! Good luck with your decision!
- I'd go to Tennessee all the way. I'm going to be moving there soon. It has big City life with the still small country town appeal which I personally love. Plus I really love country music so I for sure wanna move there. NYC has too much crime but everywhere else i would consider possibly. but my two choices are Texas or Tennessee. I think Oregon would be too cold.
