1. Unless you have a very specialized return , they're largely interchangeable.

3. I've used both Kiplinger TaxCut and Intuit TurboTax. As far as I'm concerned, they're interchangeable. Between the two, just find the best deal.
4. Most will do the job, but none of them will give you much support if you get stuck or have a problem with the IRS. If your return consist of much more then a W-2 and 1099, I suggest you get it professionally done if you have no experience doing returns.
5. I agree with a previous answer that these days to find the best deal. There is not much difference between TaxCut and TurboTax except for asthetics and price. TaxCut right now is usually a little cheaper than TurboTax. TurboTax however has a richer feature set.
