Tax lawyer question?

I want to become a tax lawyer. I am a sophomore undergrad at Syracuse University. I am a history major who has many business classes under his belt from summer classes, such as basic accounting, real estate law, business economics, etc. I want to become a CPA and JD. Do you think that it is better to complete a CPA first and then a JD? Will a CPA help me in law school admissions? Also, when you reach law school, do you just choose what field of law you want to specialize in? What are the starting salaries for a tax lawyer with a CPA and JD? Also, what requirements are there to become a CPA in the state of New York? Thank you for any info you can give me!

  1. No, probably won't help. I think that you can take the whole exam without working, but must have work experience to get the CPA license, So go straight to law school,
