I had an IRS tax lien levied against me. Should I hire a former agent to help?
I am receiving numerous mail solicitations, but would like some help. Should I hire someone and, if so, how do I find out who is reputable?

- Was the lien filed due to taxes you legitimately owed? If so, you won't have much luck fighting uncle sam. Your best ally to start is a tax specialist who can help you review your income and taxes paid/unpaid... they might find something(s) that both you and the IRS missed, which would reduce your tax liability. If this professional tells you that the IRS came to the right conclusion, I think it would be a waste of time fighting the IRS. Your time would be better spend advancing your career.
- if it is money you should have paid forget hiring any one just pay -- if it is a gray area you cpa is the best bet!!!!
