I live in Indiana, but work in Chicago. Do I go to a tax preparation service in Indiana or Illinois?

1. either any local outfit should be prepared for this situation. two state returns will be required. [does Chicago have city income tax? I don't know, I'm in Florida.]
2. Doesn't matter. Your returns will be prepared the same way by tax pros in either state. Living that close to the state line they all are well aware of what to do.
