income taxes help

Do you support the FairTax?

The FairTax is a 23% national sales tax that eliminates the IRS, income tax, corporation tax, real estate tax, car tax, gas tax, capital gains tax, and every other federal tax. It is supposed to increase our economy by astronomical ammounts and bring companies back to America. If you support it, sign this petition below please. http://www.fairtax.org/site/PageServer?pagename=action_petition Plus, the wealthy still pay "their fair share" because you pay a lot more tax money on a billion dollar yacht than on normal things. Plus, to help the poor out, the government sends out a check of about 2 grand to every citizen, so it actually is fair.

  1. I support a 10% flat tax
  2. I think the fair tax is a single rate tax. Any income over a certain amount (which depends on dependents, marriage status, etc...) is taxed a specific rate.
  3. I'm against any kind of tax. because, government has stolen it
  4. Well, I would. And the very Wealthy in this Country would LOVE it. It's gonna be a tough sell though to Raise Taxes on the poor and Middle class by such a large amount... For you Flat Tax Folks; Mexico has a 10% Value Added Flat Tax Rate. Works so well there that NO ONE ever wants to leave there....(Hahaha)...
  5. I would like to see entitlement programs -- anything enacted after January 1, 1933 -- dismantled. Get us out of Iraq, then let's talk about a 5 or 6% flat tax.
  6. ROFL!!! so you propose that poor people who spend all their money in stores will pay the entire tax burden, and rich people will pay NOTHING on their investments, as will corporations, and it will drive huge amounts of business underground. Buy from a private party and pay no tax. this is even worse than the reagan "trickle down" economics (tax break for rich, trickles down to poor) hahaha
  7. No, it would do nothing for the poor in this country. I'm sure there is a better way but this is not it.
  8. I bet tons of the poor in our country will really benefit from an almost twenty five percent tax on everything they buy, get real, it only gives even more to the rich.
  9. hell yes i support it. ha ha i signed that like a year ago. the other answers here show the general ignorance of the American people. why did any of them even answer this when not one of them has even a basic understanding of the fairtax. if you add up all the proposed tax increases of the democrat party, the tax rate for "wealthy" Americans will jump from around 40 to 60 percent of their income. you think the republican will stop this? yeah right, just look at this immigration bull crap. we really need opinion tests. like an aptitude test it would tell you what things you know enough about to even have an opinion on it. ugh you people make me sick.
  10. Absolutely. When you make $10 an hour, you GET $10 an hour on your paycheck, and if you wanted a second job to get ahead the government wouldn't be over-taxing your second paycheck, you GET IT ALL. The rich wouldn't be able to 'write off' the purchase of yachts and property, they pay the tax and that's it! No more loopholes. And the poor would actually get a credit (paycheck) for the taxes they paid on basic necessities; food, clothing etc. So they would probably be better off than they are now. And what about illegal aliens? If you're not legally in the system you wouldn't get these monthly checks to cover what taxes you paid, so illegals would for once be forced to be part of the tax system whether they liked it or not. And these are just a couple of examples of the good it would bring. SIGN ME UP!!!!!!
  11. You bet I do. If for nothing else, just the joy of knowing that people couldn't argue about the loop holes any more, because they would no longer exist. Bring on the Fair Tax!
  12. HELL YES! All these answers talking about how the "poor" will be screwed are ignorant. We spend $500,000,000,000.00 this year for interest on a nearly $9,000,000,000,000.00 credit card debt. This will entirely devastate the U.S. if something is not done RIGHT NOW!
  13. Wrong. First, the truly wealthy will not pay that tax. This was proved just a few years ago with the so-called "luxury tax." The wealthy wound up purchasing those items outside the U.S., even though they wound up paying more for them. The wealthy don't mind being taxed, but they hate usage taxes. Second, a 23% sales tax hits the pockets of the lower and middle classes much more than the wealthy. The lower and middle classes have to buy food, household items, and other necessities. The wealthy don't have to buy luxury items, and they won't if you tax them in this manner. In fact, they won't buy them here. They will make their purchases outside the U.S., just as they did a few years ago. I know I will. Third, this country does rely on some measure of tourism. Do you really think that foreigners will come here anymore if you increase the cost of their activities by 13 to 16% overnight? Try using your head. Fourth, the "FairTax" will not eliminate federal taxes. The Death Tax, Social Security, Medicare, and corporate taxes cannot be eliminated by such a measure. If you want lower taxes, lobby Congress to spend more efficiently. Tell them to quit using Social Security funds as a source of revenue. Elect people who actually understand that the Death Tax makes many source of income taxed four times in total. Ask them to regulate health care more effectively. Tell them that corporations set the true wage rates, and that to lower the cost of living, cut corporate taxes. Tell them that spending millions of dollars a year on consumer surveys is unnecessary since corporations already do that and provide more accurate details. Tell them to quit forgiven foreign country debts unless ours is forgiven as well. Have them stop using the current system of shelling out money to infrastructure needs of states based on prior spending. There are thousands of ways to lower taxes which will actually deal with the problems of overspending instead of creating a new abusable system that will fail miserably. Try learning about economics, how the government is structured, and international affairs before offering such a ridiculous idea again in the future.
