Sending my 1040 to the wrong IRS address?
I completed my 1040 and sent it out to the IRS in January. I would be getting my money back, but I sent my 1040 to the wrong IRS address (the address that you send to if you owe money, not get a refund). It's been two months and I've not got my refund from the IRS. What should I do? I did make a copy of my completed 1040 and original W2 form, should I send a copy to the correct IRS address? Should I refile my 1040 and use a copy of the W2 form?

- Call the IRS to confirm receipt of your return, It normally takes 6 to 8 weeks to process a mailed return., If they show no record of the return, they will probably advise you to resubmit it with copies of your W2 information and any other attachment that you have. You can call the automated system at 1-800-829-1954 to check the status of your refund or use the electronic at http://www.irs.gov/individuals/article/0,,id=96596,00.html If neither system give you any information call the IRS at 1-800-829-1040 to speak with a customer service representative for assistance
