Do I have to file state income tax in California?

I made $8,400 last year and I am filed as a dependent on my parent's income taxes. Do I still need to file for state on my own?

2. Yes, you need to file both State and Federal. You have taxable income and are well above the filing limit since you are claimed as a dependent.
