How do I find out if there is a garnishment against my tax refund? I checked the IRS website and found nothing

1. Call Financial Management Services 1-800-304-3107 If there is an offset against you they will be able to advise you who it is and a contact number to who you owe
2. My sister's taxes were garnished, and the only way she found out was she filed her taxes and they sent her a letter telling her why they garnished and who the money went to. I know they can garnish for defaulting on loans (ie- college loans) and for child support because those were 2 reasons listed on my sisters letter. I can't remember the other reasons, though there were only 1 or 2 other reasons listed. I hope this helps :)
