I want to know when was the last day that the employers had to mail out the W-2 forms? Because I still haven't recieved mines yet and I called the IRS and they told me that they had until the 15 of feb. to do so. Today is already Feb.17.

- You are correct, the 15th was the last day. Talk to your companies HR department and request another copy. I too didn't receive mine and called and expect it shortly.
- Employers had until Jan. 31 to get W2's out, either by mail or making them available for employees to pick up. Call your you should have received it by now, so call your payroll department and ask for a copy. Make sure they have your correct address while you are at it.
- It's Jan. 31. I don't know why the IRS said Feb. 15. Call your employer directly if it's a small company. If not, call Human Resources.
- Usually it is Jan 31. Since the IRS gave employers an extension, they had until Feb 15th to get them postmarked. You need to give them at least 3-5 days (USPS is involved) before calling the office. As long as you have not moved you should still receive it. Remember that your employer had to have the W-2 postmarked by Feb 15, as long as they can show that the W-2 was mailed by that date, they are in compliance with the law. If you do not receive it by the 20th call the H/R department. They should be able to verify where they sent it by requesting you to provide your address. At this point if you get the run around call the IRS.
- Yes the law says the date is January 31 for mailing. But the IRS doesn't do ANYTHING unless the company fails to file the SSA copies at the end of February. Go ahead and call the IRS back and you will hear, "well we can't do anything until our copies are filed and your employer has until Feb 28 to mail them". Do you still work for this company? Have you moved since you last worked for that company? Lots of things can affect your getting the W-2. Just drive there and talk to the payroll person and ask "what the hell?" Good luck
