How come the Constitution CAN NOT force us to pay federal income taxes?
http://www.usconstitution.net/xconst_A1Sec8.html although, i know we have to pay our taxes, why is it that the Constitution has no power of forcing us to pay these taxes?

- because it's the federal laws made by congress that levy taxes.
- Because it's under a separate act that became law during WW2. Sorry I don't know the name - it was enacted to help pay for the war and never repealed (I'm assuming your talking about taxes deducted).
- A piece of paper, or actually several of them does not force anyone to do anything. The constitution does grant the congress the power to levy and collect taxes. So it does, in fact allow for us to be taxed.
- amendment 16, check it out
- U.S Constitution, Amendment XVI The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several States, and without regard to any census or enumeration. What astounds me is that, first of all, people are so willing to make fools of themselves, repeating the rantings of crackpots, rather than doing even basic research. Secondly, that so many believe that, if income taxes were repealed, they would make more money. Do you really think employers are going to continue to pay the money that went to taxes? Are those who contract goods and services going to continue to pay fees and prices that include an allowance for taxes? Of course not. .
- Honor, how many times are you going to ask this question? Article 1, Section 8 of the Constitution gave Congress the power to lay and collect taxes. The 16th amendment clarified that Congress has the power to lay and collect an income tax without apportionment. Income taxes are INDIRECT in the Constitutional sense. The above gave Congress the power, the Internal Revenue Code which was enacted by Congress and signed into law by a President is the law covering income taxes. It is the application and enforcement of that law that forces citizens to pay income taxes.
