Are these some of the contradictions of the Bible ?

- do you have a life at all
- All of your attempts are laughable. I don't have time to take you through kindergarden.
- No, they are not. Two issues, point of view of the writer and linguistic translation. You need to learn to read Greek, Aramaic and Hebrew and you will see there is no conflict.
- actually i dont see one contradiction if u read everything in context ... and not one thing has a relevance on the core belief that is mentioned in ur ludicrously long post ..
- Nicely done! However it's like trying to explain what the colour Blue is to a blind person. The faithful will always, always find an excuse for any discrepancies. They just get defensive and say you're wrong.
- Nice Job. However, you are going to be told that these are stories written from the perscpectives of two or more different people, so the details will be different - but the underlying message is what is important. Dont let that fool you. If this book was the Divinely Inspired WOrd of God, there wouldnt be a single mistake anywhere inside it. My favorites are the actual factual mistakes. Bats are not birds, Whales are not fish, and the circumference of a circle is not 3x the lentgth of its radius. The earth is not a flat circle, but a 3 dimensional sphere. But dont tell God that either!
- What is your point? Are you trying to catch God in a trap? Or are you searching? You sure know the bible well. I am going to print your question and read it too. No matter what I come up with, I CHOOSE to believe the bible is true and correct by faith. All of Jesus teachings are worthy to be followed regardless of contradiction and a good example of how we should live our lives. Jesus IS love - Love is patient, kind, gentle, slow to anger, doen't demand it's own way, etc. If everyone felt & lived that way, we wouldn't be in the mess we're in. I think WE are the ones who misunderstand sometimes. I think you have a very interesting question. You get a star.
- You went through a lot of work just to nit-pik.
- Hey man, these supposed contradictions that you have come up with are really not contradictions at all. Most of them you would find out for yourself if you would read the Bible for yourself. However, instead it seems you would rather continue to convince yourself of contradictions, thus remaining in darkness which is ignorance. Why don't you try this again and post only a few at a time so that all supposed contradictions can be explained and all may learn, especially you! Remember this also, that these Gospels were written from four different points of view, though very much inspired, yet still with a human touch which makes it all the more believable. These guys obviously did not copy one another, they told it the way they saw it.
- You could try to understand your own errors in what you call contradictions. I'm not saying that there are not apparent contraditions in the Bible, I'm just saying that you are trying to play it safe by posting them so numerously. Are you afraid of taking them one by one? If not then I will answer each one of those 'contradictions' if you REALLY want to know the answers. All I can do is try to help you understand some of them. But you really don't want to know, do you? As they say," Safety in numbers" eh?
- If this doesn't convince them that the Bible have been tampered with, nothing will. You put it in their face and yet having eyes, they still cant see it. Blind faith looks more like ignorant faith to me. The Bible is not a "Holy" book.
- I agree with tuberoot. It is disingenuous, at the least of it, to post so many "apparent" contradictions all at the same time. Post maybe two or three and I am certain that many, including myself, will be happy to respond and help you understand that they are not contradictions at all. Otherwise, it just looks like you threw a lot of stuff up against a wall to see what would stick. Hannah J Paul
- You have spent a lot of time here in a vain attempt to discredit the Word Of God. You have to realize, that minor differences in the way four different writers of the Gospels interpret the same story mean nothing. It's like playing that game where a person tells the one next to him/her a story, then it gets told to the next one , and so on, until you reach the end of a line of 10 people. When you compare the way it started out with the version at the end of the line, the main gist may still be there, but some minor details might have been written down differently. But that does not discredit the author of the original story. In the case of the Bible, you will find NO contradictions in anything that has to do with the plan of Salvation, or our relationship with the Son of God, and thus about where we all spend eternity.
- I would rather spend the time reading the Bible than read all of your questions...........sorry. Scala Paradisi -- the Stairway to Heaven -- describes a 4-runged ladder to Heaven, each rung being one of the four steps in method of Bible reading. lectio (reading): "looking on Holy Scripture with all one's will and wit" meditatio (meditation): "a studious insearching with the mind to know what was before concealed through desiring proper skill" oratio (prayer): "a devout desiring of the heart to get what is good and avoid what is evil" contemplatio (contemplation): "the lifting up of the heart to God tasting somewhat of the heavenly sweetness and savour"
