Does IRS Form W-9 Need to be Signed to be Legal? I am working on a software application wherein a merchant's W-9 (Request Taxpayer Identification Number) form needs to be transmitted to those who will be paying the merchant. Is there a legal alternative to pasting a JPEG of his signature into the PDF?

Is this telemarketing company a fraud?? I work for a company called grand discovery, it is a travel company. I am actually a telemarketer for them, working in a seperate building. they do not take taxes out of our paychecks, and gave us w-9 tax forms to fill out when i started. a major issue also is they get massive amounts of complaints about their bussiness, such as the customer stating that they never got to go on vacation and never got what was promised without paying massive amounts of money. they ARE a part of the Better Business Bureau (BBB) and also they are a memeber of the Chamber Of Commerce. Im a seceptical about working here at all now, i make great money, but i am scared i am going to get personal law suit filed against me for telling the customers something that is untrue, but is required of me to say. or even that i am going to get in trouble with the irs for them not taking my taxes out. please give me some guidance as to weather or not i should be working here.
What do I do after I file a W-9 (W9) Form? I just filed a W9 form and I want to know if when tax time comes around, if I have to file taxes or whatever you need to do. Do I just file this form and get my money and not worry about it again? Or do I have to do more things with the IRS once I file the W-9? I know what it is, I just don't know what happens.
What Form Do I Fill Out So That I Know How Much Money I Owe The IRS? What is a W-9 form? At my internship, I had to fill out a W-9 form. I know it has something to do with taxes but I am not sure specifically what. Does it mean I have to pay taxes or does the company need it for IRS information. Please explain in detail. Thanks
My father is a foreign investor. But his w-9 form expired last year, and he filed a valid one.? But in between this period, the broker withheld tax from his stock sales -- 28% of the proceed from stock sale. Foreign investors should not pay tax on capital gains, so IRS should refund him the money. And the capital gain is much less than the proceed from a stock sale. What form shall he file to get refund? He has no ITIN number. He tried to apply one, but got rejected. He is no longer in the country. Is he still able to apply for ITIN?
w-9 tax form question ? I have registered a business name and got insurance for doing small odd jobs now and then. I was sent a W-9 form for TIN by my bank. I work full time for a company and they pay all taxes from that but what I'm wondering is how this is all going to affect me. Since I only do a handful of odd jobs as under my own name am I going to be audited every year because i'm only claiming handful of jobs and the IRS is going to think Im cheating them ? How do I file since I work full time for a company, I can't file sole proprietor because 98% of my income is from an employer. This might be more trouble then it's worth.

Is true about a W9 form? I worked for a company for 25hrs (at $10/hr), don't expect to work for them anymore. But I was asked to fill a W9 form, and would like to know what I'm in for. This is what the "recruiter" said: "Also a W9 form is attached. If not familiar with this form it is a tax form that states simply that if you make more than $600.00 working for any one company in a calendar year then you must file a W-9 form with the IRS and claim this income at the end of the year. We will not take taxes out of your check but will file the W-9 form if you go over this amount. Please send it back to me with your first time sheet."
can the IRS track the checks you cash? So if i do some some work for someone, and they pay me with check. A check made out to just my name. Does the IRS know? No 1099 & w-9 forms.
google adsense taxes? alright i know you have to pay taxes if you make over 600 bucks. then under the w-9 irs form it talks about withholding 28% of earnings to be payed to the irs heres what it says exactly Check here if you have been notified by the IRS that you are currently subject to backup withholding because you have failed to report all interest and dividends on your tax return. ! If you check the above option, Google is required to withhold 28% of your earnings to be paid to the IRS alright so can any1 click there if they dont want to pay taxes at the end of the year but get them back. so it would be like a job where they automaticall take out taxes and pay to the irs and at the end of the year and you get part of that money back. please helppppp thanks, cody

What do I need to start a small company and pay independent contractors to work events for me? I'm being hired by a company and they are paying me to hire others to work an event. They will pay me and I will need to pay my people. I believe I need to have my independent contractors sign w-9 forms. But what do I do after that? I don't want to have to pay taxes on money that goes to someone else. What forms do I need to submit to the IRS, etc. Thank you!

For Stock trading in US need to file W8-BEN or W8-ECI? Hi, I am an Indian Citizen. I bought some stocks in US, when I was in there. At that time my status was Alien RESIDENT in US. Hence I gave W-9 form to my stock broker. Also I get W-8 form from my employer and filed the tax returns. I returned from US to India couple of years back for good. Hence I believe my status would be changed to NON RESIDENT ALIEN. Still my stock broker has W-9 form only. But from IRS site I understand that I need to submit different form if I am NON RESIDENT ALIEN. I am confused whether I need to submit W8-BEN for W8-ECI form? (not able to understand clearly from IRS site). Also, after filing this will I be exempted from tax with holding and tax filing for US? Thanks in advance for your time.. Regards, San.
I worked as an Graphic Designer..but did not fill out or recieve a W-9 when employed...? If so, which forms do I need to fill out? and how do I pay the IRS if I owe any taxes (ie. send the check with my completed tax forms?)...Any help would be much appreciated, Thank you!
