Do non-US residents have to submit tax forms to the IRS if they collaborate with an American company? Hi, I am a non-US resident and provide counseling services on a website. The website represents an American company and, as such, they require all advisers to submit tax forms with proof that they paid their taxes to the IRS. Since I am not an US resident - and therefore presume that the IRS does not care if I paid taxes to my country - I would like to know if they would require me to submit this form, or what laws apply in this situation. Thank you!
Want to obtain IRS tax info for a business for the past 3 years? My sister is considering taking over a business, she recvd income tax forms filled out by an accountant but they appear to be filled out incorrectly wanted to know if we can obtain IRS records for the business and also would like to know if there is a way to find out via the internet the debts of the business to find out exactly what my sister is getting into.
what forms should be submitting with IRS form 5140 (first time homebuyers tax credit)? I received a letter from the IRS asking for a copy of my settlement statement as well as something that would include property tax transfer (or sometimes called tax stamps). I am somewhat confused on where to obtain this information, or if the settlement statement will suffice? I tried calling the number listed on the paperwork, but, it is the IRS.... I was on hold forever! Anyone else have to do this?
Need my tax forms, can the IRS help me? Okay here is the issue. I have to apply for fin aid at my University and I do not have my income tax papers and I can't get ahold of my preparer which I think she may have copies. I need them and is there a way I can get the IRS to send me the forms? God, I doubt it, but I need them, because I am such a procrastinator and have put it off for far too long!
For my college applicaton, what part of my IRS tax forms do I send? I'm applying to a summer college program. Since I'm also applying for a tuition scholarship, they ask to send in my parents' 2007 IRS Tax Forms along with a copy of the W-2 Wage and Salary Statement. My parents have little idea of what this means. Do I have to photocopy each and every page of the 20-page-odd tax forms? Also, I they don't seem to own a W-2 form that looks even remotely like this (http://www.docstoc.com/docs/23890/2007-Form-W-2-Wage-and-Tax-Statement-_Info-Copy-Only_) One page of the IRS tax packet says that people that don't have the W-2 should look on page 19. Unfortunately, there's nothing on page 19! What should I do?
If I have a $45,000 home equity loan, do I have to report this to IRS on my tax forms? I know the loan is tax deductible, but if I choose not to report it, what are the consequences? Will this type of a loan appear anywhere else while preparing taxes or any other place? Would this type of a loan have any effect on my current original mortgage? As someone stated, a copy of 1098 will go to IRS. What can they do if I don't report it?
Is there an IRS tax on a gift of money from an international source? My mom is getting an inheritance in South Korea (a house of her father is being sold and proceeds being split among siblings). When she brings that money back to the United States, will there be taxes due to the IRS from essentially an international inheritance (taxes in Korea were already paid)? If instead of keeping it herself she wants to give the money to me or my sister, is there a gift tax due to the IRS (filling out a gift tax form and just using up part of my mom and dad's lifetime gift exemption to me and my sister)? And what is the actual best method of having those international funds transferred to an U. S. account? (wire transfer, actual check, other?) Thanks for the responses below. I called the IRS and they said the same thing. Only other thing they added was that Treasury / Customs form FinCEN-105 (report of international transportation of currency or monetary instruments) had to be filled out within 15 days of that international transfer. Read instructions for form FinCEN-105. Apparently only applies to physical transfer of currency across borders. Don't need to fill out for electronic transfer.
Which IRS tax form do I need to use if I received income from the USA and overseas? I'm currently living in Australia for a few months. I moved here last November so part of my income for 2006 was from my company in the USA and part was from a company that I worked for in Australia. What forms do I need to use to file my US taxes when I have income from two countries? Also, do I have to claim my overseas income if it was below a certain amount? Thanks.
IRS Tax Disclosure form for Stated Income No Doc Loan? I'm in escrow on a stated income product. I have given my monthly income, and documented my self employment with an "accountants letter" for 2-years per the Loan Officer's request. Now I'm getting ready to sign Loan Docs in the escrow office. The escrow officer at my request described the forms we would be asked to sign, one of which is an "IRS FORM" that gives the Lender permission to check my income per tax returns for prior years. Due to all my deductions the income will not appear identical. Can they deny funding my loan based on what the IRS gives them? I thought this was supposed to be a "no doc" loan, but now I'm surprised w/this form and escrow is due to close any day now. Will this be a problem for me?
What IRS form do I file for tax fraud? The father of my child claimed my daughter when he wasn't supposed to. My taxes got rejected and now I was told by a friend to file the IRS frauduelnt tax form...I need the form number??
How do I know if the IRS received my tax forms and they were correct? I am self-employed and was told I had to pay a self-employment tax. I went to hrblock.com and tried to e-file, but they said I couldn't but the forms were filled out and I had to mail them in. So I did, but they said I only had to pay $100 to my state for taxes. Someone else told me that is not right and that I am to pay self-employment federal taxes. HRblock filled out the forms for me but there was $0 for self-employment tax. I made over $8,000 last year. How do I know if the IRS received my forms and they are correct? I don't want to get in trouble for not paying self-employment taxes if I was meant to!
On what line of which IRS tax form do I report income from my UK Old Age Pension? I am a naturalized U.S. citizen (formerly a British citizen) living in the United States. Because I worked for many years in the UK, I am entitled to a UK Old Age Pension. I understand that this pension income is taxable, but I can't figure out how to report this income to the IRS since I did not receive a 1099-R from the British government.
What irs tax forms does the holder of an inter-family mortgage need to file? A family member has extended me a mortgage on a house that I purchased. The mortgage was drawn up by an attorney and legally registered with the appropriate local authorities. The family member who extended the mortgage and who holds the note is an individual, ie not engaged in a business or trade. That seems to mean that he wouldn't have to file form 1098. But i was wondering if there is any other kind of form he would have to file with the IRS, or does he simply report the mortgage interest as income and I report the interest payments as a deduction? (i have the mortgage documents, lien and banks statements to show everything is legal and payments are being made in the event of an audit) Thanks in advance for any help/advice
