IRS forms? Hi, I just turned 18, and my place of work is asking me to fill out IRS forms. What do my employers need these forms for? How would this affect my income? Or say how much would it affect my income? Is there a step-by-step process that I can do to ensure everything is filed correctly?
How much does H&R Block charge for taxes? How long does it take til they give the IRS forms to you? I need the IRS 1040A or whatever (not sure exactly which form it is) to correct the info on my FAFSA and I need to have the IRS sheets faxed by March 1st, and my parents have yet to fill out their taxes. I was wondering how much H&R Block charges, and how long they take to fill out the forms (there isn't much to my parents' W2 forms by the way, it's pretty straightforward), since there's another guy doing it for around $170 for both parents (I think). Any info would be greatly appreciated.
If an S-corp distributes previously taxed S-corp earnings from an earlier year, what IRS forms are used? I have seen some answers on here that an S-Corporation must distribute all profits every year, but from the IRS instructions I have been reading I think that is hogwash. The exact amount of profit will not even be known until final accounting is done some time after the close of the year. I know that all profits are taxed at the share holder level, whether or not actually distributed to the shareholders. Question: If an S-corp distributes previously taxed S-corp earnings from an earlier year, from their Accumulated Adjustments Account, what IRS forms are to be used? The IRS instructions are unclear on this point, but it looks like 1099DIV box 3 and form 5452 might be it. Rferences, please. March 10 - no best answer yet. I'm not asking about "Accumulated Earnings and Profits", which is different from "Accumulated Adjustments Account" - see form 1120S and its instructions. I now think that no form is needed, because any money in AAA will have already been taxed by having been being reported on K-1 to the shareholders.

How do I view IRS form 990 for Charitable Organizations? I used to be able to view IRS form 990 for charitable hospitals on Guidestar.com for free, but it appears that they now charge for this service. Is there a site, online, where these forms, which are supposed to be freely available for the public, can be viewed?
Where do I get IRS Telefile Forms? Where do I get IRS Telefile Forms? I live in Massachusetts. I am doing my taxes last minute and I'm wondering where I can get the TeleFILE FORMS (because I believe its free to file by phone???) and do you know what time the places are open to where i could pick them up
does anyone know what irs forms I need? I have already filed my 2005 income tax and I have recieved my refund, but I am from New Orleans and I just found out thru a friend that I can file for my Katrina. Does anyone have a clue as to how I file for those losses? Do I need to refile with my income like normal or can I just file for my losses?
Do non-US residents have to submit tax forms to the IRS if they collaborate with an American company? Hi, I am a non-US resident and provide counseling services on a website. The website represents an American company and, as such, they require all advisers to submit tax forms with proof that they paid their taxes to the IRS. Since I am not an US resident - and therefore presume that the IRS does not care if I paid taxes to my country - I would like to know if they would require me to submit this form, or what laws apply in this situation. Thank you!
What constitutes a "dependent" on IRS forms? My ex-husband claims my oldest son (22 and a full-time student) as a dependent on his income tax. The only form of support he gives my son is paying for his health care coverage and occasional "gas" money. He does not help in any manner with tuition or room and board. On the other hand, I have paid for room and board consistantly for the past year. In addition, I pay for books and other expenses that occur. I feel my ex doesn't have the right to claim my son. Am I right? If so, is there anything I can do since my ex has claimed him for the past 4 years (with the same situation)? **new info: My son lives in his own apartment when not in school. He lives there full-time (with me helping with expenses). The decree only covers through age 18. He has filed his own insurance, but his dad had it changed. Is there anything my son can do for the filings that he DIDN'T get to claim himself for the past couple of years? His dad has claimed him every year (telling my son "he has to" because my son "is a student receiving health care benefits". Can he refile for the past couple of years?
What IRS Form (If Any) Needs to be filled out by Independant contractors I hire? I am running a small business and I want to hire an independant contractor to do some technical writing for the website. Are there any IRS forms that I need to have to contractor fill out prior to beginning work on my website? The work will be continuous for approximately 1 year. Also, how do I report to the IRS that I paid this contractor and when do I send that form in? Thanks for the help! The work will be done off-site, not have regulated hours, and will likely be about 10-20 hours a month.
Do you have to use IRS forms when filing a return.? I thought the law was that you had to report not that you had to report using IRS forms. For example, could you write a letter saying you earned x dollars and believe you owe y amount and send a check for y amount along with the letter. As long as y amount was at least as much as you actually owed you'd be ok. Or would you need to file a 1040 even though you'd paid.
How can I check that the IRS received my forms 8843.? As an international student with no US income I'm required to file only 8843 form and I don't know where to check if they received it. If you go to "where's my refund?" on IRS web site they ask you for the filing status ant the expected amount so it can't be there.Does anyone know where to check?
Can anyone go to IRS and retrieve my w-2 forms? I know that my employers will be sending me w-2's in the mail but I am legally separated and my legally-separated husband has tried to claim my taxes, forging my signature and taking my refunds. We don't live together. I live with my parents, which I don't want him to find out their address. If he tries to go to IRS and retrieve my w-2 forms, will he be able to do it? Or do I have to be there with him? I am hoping he won't be able to get anymore money from me than he has already taken. Thanks!
Can you claim as a loss on Schedule D of IRS forms the sale of a Time Share.? If you purchase a time share and wish to sell it and the only way to do this is to sell it at a loss or give it away, can you claim what you originally paid for the time share, which is deeded, as a loss on Schedule D. The deed has been registered in the state in which the time share is located. We have used the time share for our own use, and have not rented it.
what forms should be submitting with IRS form 5140 (first time homebuyers tax credit)? I received a letter from the IRS asking for a copy of my settlement statement as well as something that would include property tax transfer (or sometimes called tax stamps). I am somewhat confused on where to obtain this information, or if the settlement statement will suffice? I tried calling the number listed on the paperwork, but, it is the IRS.... I was on hold forever! Anyone else have to do this?
Need my tax forms, can the IRS help me? Okay here is the issue. I have to apply for fin aid at my University and I do not have my income tax papers and I can't get ahold of my preparer which I think she may have copies. What are all the forms required for reporting Capital Gains to the IRS? I know that one of the forms is a Schedule D: http://www.irs.gov/pub/irs-pdf/f1040sd.pdf but what if you have alot more stocks to list than the few spaces available on this form? Where do you put them? Is there another form or forms that you can use? What happens if you have 15 pages of stocks you traded to claim come tax time? How does that work?
How do I got about submitting forgotten W-2 forms to the IRS? I already did my taxes and two days after I did them I got 2 W-2's in the mail that I forgot I was going to get. I called the guy that did my taxes and he said to wait until I got my refund and then go back. Is there a way I can do it directly with the IRS? He is always booked and I don't want more time to pass. Thanks in advance.
IRS forms for previous years? I need a 1040EZ form for 2005. I didn't file that year. The refund was minimal and I didn't think it was worth the time. I need it now and the deadline to file is in April. Is there any way to request the forms online? I'd rather not sit on hold for a couple hours.... If I take my return to H&R block or some other service, can they e-file it for me, or will they use the postal mail?
Where to mail section 83(b) forms to IRS? I have a section 83(b) form that I need to file with the IRS but I can't find the mailing location anywhere. Has anyone done this recently? I will try to call them tomorrow but I welcome any advice / insight.
For my college applicaton, what part of my IRS tax forms do I send? I'm applying to a summer college program. Since I'm also applying for a tuition scholarship, they ask to send in my parents' 2007 IRS Tax Forms along with a copy of the W-2 Wage and Salary Statement. My parents have little idea of what this means. Do I have to photocopy each and every page of the 20-page-odd tax forms? Also, I they don't seem to own a W-2 form that looks even remotely like this (http://www.docstoc.com/docs/23890/2007-Form-W-2-Wage-and-Tax-Statement-_Info-Copy-Only_) One page of the IRS tax packet says that people that don't have the W-2 should look on page 19. Unfortunately, there's nothing on page 19! What should I do?
Need help on how to print PDF files from online sites such as IRS forms.? I have very little Computer Technical knowledge. I believe I have a browser problem, but not sure. I can access certain websites and request "printable pdf forms, etc.," but only an ICON about 1/4 inch square is displayed. None of my efforts to print such items have been successfull. I have downloaded free Adobe 6.0, but still haven't been able to print desired online product. I can print "current" webpages, but not specifically requested forms in "pdf format." Can anyone help?
If I have a $45,000 home equity loan, do I have to report this to IRS on my tax forms? I know the loan is tax deductible, but if I choose not to report it, what are the consequences? Will this type of a loan appear anywhere else while preparing taxes or any other place? Would this type of a loan have any effect on my current original mortgage? As someone stated, a copy of 1098 will go to IRS. What can they do if I don't report it?
What irs tax forms does the holder of an inter-family mortgage need to file? A family member has extended me a mortgage on a house that I purchased. The mortgage was drawn up by an attorney and legally registered with the appropriate local authorities. The family member who extended the mortgage and who holds the note is an individual, ie not engaged in a business or trade. That seems to mean that he wouldn't have to file form 1098. But i was wondering if there is any other kind of form he would have to file with the IRS, or does he simply report the mortgage interest as income and I report the interest payments as a deduction? (i have the mortgage documents, lien and banks statements to show everything is legal and payments are being made in the event of an audit) Thanks in advance for any help/advice

It is 2/11/08, Has the IRS started processing 2007 refunds with AMT forms on them? Ok, so it is now Feb 11, 2008. I didn't know about the hold up for filers with AMT forms until after I did my e-file with Taxact and I am wondering.... Does anyone know if the IRS is actually going to start processing these as they said they would today? Haven't seen anything new on it and my refund has just been sitting there for about 2 weeks, getting a little frustrated since there is no news on this issue. Thanks!!!

IRS Tax Disclosure form for Stated Income No Doc Loan? I'm in escrow on a stated income product. I have given my monthly income, and documented my self employment with an "accountants letter" for 2-years per the Loan Officer's request. Now I'm getting ready to sign Loan Docs in the escrow office. The escrow officer at my request described the forms we would be asked to sign, one of which is an "IRS FORM" that gives the Lender permission to check my income per tax returns for prior years. Due to all my deductions the income will not appear identical. Can they deny funding my loan based on what the IRS gives them? I thought this was supposed to be a "no doc" loan, but now I'm surprised w/this form and escrow is due to close any day now. Will this be a problem for me?
